Meet Our Team
CEO, Chief Architect, Founder
Jack has over 20 years of experience building successful products and startups. Prior to Alta5, he founded Sencha, a startup that provides developer tools and frameworks to 8 of the top 10 financial institutions and over 60% of the Fortune 100. After Sencha was acquired by Sequoia Capital, he began using his development skills and trading expertise to automate his personal investments; the result was the first version of the Alta5 platform. Jack previously led startup teams building innovative products at e-Ventus, Intervolve and Inovie and early in his career built prominent websites HowardStern.com and DrLaura.com.
Andy joins Alta5 with over 30 years of experience in the global financial services industry. He was a Principal on the derivatives desk at Morgan Stanley before he started a global derivatives business for Credit Suisse. He went onto to spearhead the first generation of algorithms for Fidelity. Capitalizing on new government regulations, Andy started a stock exchange for the International Securities Exchange that competed with NYSE and NASDAQ among others. He moved into the turnaround space where he held senior positions at Belzberg Technologies, Apex Clearing and Lightspeed Trading, an online brokerage firm.
General Counsel, Founder
Adam brings over 18 years executive experience building leading businesses. Adam obtained his Bachelor of Engineering from Vanderbilt University with honors, triple majoring in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and Mathematics. Adam went on to earn a law degree from Duke University Law School, and practiced corporate and contract law with the prominent firm of Stearns Weaver Miller Weissler Alhadeff & Sitterson, P.A. From there, Adam led business divisions for Bayview Financial, a prominent national financial institution, achieving record growth and sales. More recently, Adam has served as VP Operations and General Counsel for Sencha, where he managed financial, HR, legal and licensing matters as the company grew to over 100 employees and significant revenues.
Adam is a member the Silicon Valley Intellectual Property Law Association (SVIPLA), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Computer Society, the American Bar Association, the Business Law Section of the Florida Bar, the Intellectual Property and In-House Counsel programs of the California Bar, and the Executive Committee of the Duke Law Club of Northern California. Adam is also a member of the Committee on Standards and Open Source of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA).
Chief Evangelist, Investor Relations, Founder
Rocco specializes in customer relationships, sales, leadership and peak performance coaching. He’s been successful in multiple key sales and business development roles acquiring and on-boarding customers.
Most recently, Rocco served as Senior Business Coaching Specialist at Tony Robbins, where he pioneered the Business Results Coaching Division helping small and medium sized businesses improve executive performance, productivity and sales numbers. His startup experience includes Director of Enterprise Sales at Nomi and Director of Business Development at Sencha, where he was the first sales hire and helped build the training and services division.
Former President and CEO, TradeStation
Salomon is a seasoned financial services and technology executive who spent 20 years as Board Member, President and CEO of TradeStation. Salomon guided TradeStation from a small company that sold algorithmic trading software to one of the largest (7th in DART’s) and most awarded online brokers in America. He later negotiated the $411M sale of TradeStation to Monex Group.
CEO and Founder, Estimize.com
Leigh started his career as a trader at Geller Capital
where he helped run a successful quantitative strategy based on several core behavioral
finance principles. He later started his own asset management firm, Surfview Capital,
and was an early member of the team at StockTwits before founding Estimize.
Leigh was recently named to the Forbes 30 under 30 and Goldman Sachs' 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs.
President and Co-Founder, Gold Boullion International
Mr. Singh was an investment
analyst at Chilton Investment Company where he covered investments in the technology,
alternative energy and infrastructure space. Prior to Chilton, Mr. Singh was at Morgan
Stanley in the investment banking division where he worked on large financial sponsor
and strategic company transactions. Mr. Singh received his B.S. in Applied Economics and
Management from Cornell University and currently serves on the boards of Ecologic
Solutions and Stiki Digital.
Savneet was recently named to the Forbes 30 under 30 and Empact Top 100 Entrepreneurs under 30.
Proprietary Trader, Author, Professor
Brian Johnson was the founder of Lincoln Capital Management’s fixed income index business, where he managed over $13 billion in assets for clients around the globe. He has over 30 years of experience in option valuation, risk management and trading. In addition to his professional investment experience, he designed and taught courses in financial derivatives for both MBA and undergraduate business programs. He is also the author of Option Strategy Risk / Return Ratios and Exploiting Earnings Volatility. Mr. Johnson earned his B.S. in Finance with high honors from the University of Illinois – Urbana and his MBA degree with a specialization in Finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
CMO and Co-Founder, Nomi
Prior to Nomi, Marc was the CTO for SaaS at BMC Software. Marc was responsible for the SaaS strategy across all of the BMC product lines. Before BMC, Marc was the Chief Technical Architect for Salesforce.com. He held several positions with Salesforce.com including roles in R&D, Customer Success, Sales, and Enterprise Strategy. Marc’s responsibilities ranged from early stage product development, evangelism, and helping develop Salesforce.com's Collaboration and Platform strategic direction. Marc also serves on the advisory board of WorkMarket, Payfone, Breadcrumb POS (acquired by Groupon), and SalesPredict.
Prior to Salesforce.com, Marc served as the Vice President of Engineering at Vettro Corp. Marc also served as Vice President of Development at InternetCash.com. Over the course of his career, Mr. Ferrentino has held technology positions at Goldman Sachs and Westinghouse/Cutler-Hammer.
John Paul Milciunas
Entrepreneur-in-Residence, Accelerator Ventures
John Paul has over 20 years experience working with and building successful technology companies. He was most recently CEO of Enlight, a business intelligence platform that uses machine learning to provide real-time market insights to investors, corporate governance professionals, and board directors of public corporations. Prior to that he was an Entrepreneur-in- Residence at Accelerator Ventures. Throughout his career he has played key roles in strategy and business development for both early stage startups and large technology corporations. Prior to joining Accelerator Ventures, John Paul was in the Strategy and Business Development group at Yahoo!. Before joining Yahoo!, John Paul worked as a product strategy consultant for Checkfree during the company’s $4.4B acquisition by Fiserv. John Paul was CEO of SPI Dynamics, a web application security start-up that was acquired by Hewlett-Packard for $90MM. John Paul also spent 3 years in Silicon Valley working for Scient as a business strategy consultant. His first technology job was as a test engineer and capital markets SME at S1 Corporation where he was part of the team that created the world’s first Internet bank, SFNB. John Paul is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology.
President and Co-Founder, Deco Digital
Ben’s experience includes the Jefferies & Co technology investment banking group, where he focused on investments and public offerings with semiconductor and digital media companies. In 2005 he co-founded Deco Digital which is a leading developer of smart wirelessly controlled commercial energy efficient lighting solutions, where he is responsible for operations, growth, and engineering. Ben is also the co-founder of SupplyBid, the first b2b Omni-channel ecommerce platform for industrial products. He graduated with Honors B.S. Electrical Computer Engineering, University of California, San Diego. His hobbies include cross fit, start-ups, investing, and his new baby daughter Makayla.
